The summer that is drawing to a close was marked not only by the heat but also by tennis at Parc Louis-Riel.
The Thursday evening (singles) and Sunday afternoon (doubles) leagues were a great success. For those interested, the leagues continue until October 6. Two Yolande-Garoche tournaments (don't look up her name in the history books!) were also organized.
On June 1, 16 players competed under blue skies and glorious sunshine. Rick Simoneau defeated Anderson Carneiro in the final. Kevin McCarthy won the consolation round over Alain Lemanach.
On August 3, 18 players in two tables braved the scorching heat to live out their passion. Vincent Capodanno defeated Eric Séguin in the Draw 1 final, as did Benoit Chayer against Davis Prado-Boileau in Draw 2. The consolation round was won by Chris Lau against Jean-Philippe Primeau.
Don't forget that the indoor league resumes on Saturday, October 12, at the Nuns' Island Tennis Club.
